After this war Libya will be poorer than what it was. All those infrastructures will be gone and mangled.
Libya will have to pump more oil and sell it to the Nato countries to rebuild its infrastructure which had been built before destroyed by Nato war machinery with Libyan oil money. By the time they rebuild infrastructure, Libya has no oil left to move forward....and then forever be at the mercy of the West. Just take a look at Egypt......without food subsudies from US, amounting US 4 billion, there would be chaos, demonstrations in the streets of Cairo. This had happened before.
The removal of Mubarak had not changed anything at the moment. In fact the country is directionless. Egypt has produced more people with religous studies/background than engineers, hydrologists, agriculturalists, economists, scientists etc. Whatever engineers and technocrats Egypt produces the majority left the country. In fact the major income for Egypt at the moment are money(ies) return from Egyptians living abroad!
Once we tried to introduce special variety of wheat that can grow in desert areas of Egypt with irrigation (Nile waters) and we were discouragued. The powers that be wants Egypt to be dependent on food subsidies (for political expediency) and to keep the US wheat farmers happy.
Libya is another country to bite the dust....just like Iraq and Afghanistan. US will not leave saudi Arabia even though it was a temporay arrangement during the Iraqi war. US will not leave Iraq. The liberators will just lick the countries dry.
I stand to be corrected.
