The overall program
The overall program objective is for participants to revisit and attain an integrated and full knowledge of ISLAM as per the various subjects offered in Darul Ta'lim. Muslims today being more educated, demand an ever more accurate understanding of the adDeen with a view to practice its aqidah, syariah and akhlak in its purest form. As with the passage of time, old and current philosophies and thinking are being debated, reinforced and imbued into the mind of the Muslims, to the extent of partially confusing and corrupting their mindsets, hence affecting their true understanding of Islam knowingly and unknowingly. Darul Ta'lim courses enlighten these deviations in the thinking and beliefs, the syariah, the akhlaq of Islam and reemphasize the need to go back to basics: by way of ISLAH.
As per the pyramid diagram; core subjects are Arabic Language, Nahu and Soraf AlQur'an, Harfiyah/Quranic Understanding, Aqidah, Asma ul Husna and Hadith. The language and Quranic Understanding classes( the first 3 courses ) form a basis and foundation for an effective learning of the subsequent core subjects. The Manhaj of the creed of the Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamaah is the compass.
Supplementary subjects such as Ittiba' ar Rasul, Qalbun Salim, Tafsir and Taddabur, Qum Fa Andzir/Seerah, Hidup Bahagia, Tarbiyah Ruhiyah, Fiqh as Sunnah, Lahjah/Talaqqi are all offered to form a preferred one stop integrated knowledge centre of learning.
The Ittiba’ ar Rasul subject also needs particular attention in our time especially when the enemies of Islam (knowingly or unknowingly) are intent either to divinize our prophet and certain members of his family on the one hand or on the other hand others trying to humiliate him with a view to undermine the Hadiths and thus invalid the teachings of the sunnah and corrupts the teaching of Islam in a similar way as what had been the fate of earlier prophets’ teachings. The prophet’s role as the messenger of Allah is to remain as what Allah and His Messenger has ordained. The Qalbun Salim module tackles the Islamic perspective of a Muslims EQ and SQ simultaneously. It is very different from the philosophical tasawuuf that many of us are exposed to and which are not the ways of the prophet and the sahabah.
Simultaneous learning from varying Islamic centres has its advantageous and disadvantageous. Participants who are exposed to different learning processes, methodologies, references and alignment on the same subject matter may initially result in a less cohesive understanding of the subject. A case in point is studies on fiqqiyyah khilafiyyah and takhrij alhadiths. Expositions on these studies are largely dzanni but yet preferred qauls are summarized to differentiate matters of khilafiyyah and bidaah .The quest for truth is thus obtained when we are able to differentiate the ibadah that can be done in many ways and those that must not be practiced because it has no reference. Each learning centre has its own approach in dealing with this particular subject. And partly due to the different sourcing of the various nas in mustalah alhadith, ulum hadith, ususl fiq and the different interpretations from the various mazhabs and presenter/teacher , participants end up in classes asking more questions than being able to differentiate and understand the subject. It is with this in mind that the INTEGRATED PROGRAM is designed to benefit the members. The old taboo that differences in opinion of the various mazhabs must not be openly debated is now closely looked into and articulated.
Darul Ta'lim recommends that the core subjects be emphasized whilst signing up the program.
